How much does branding cost in India?
What branding costs in India: freelancer, studio or agency, what a sprint, an identity and a rebrand include, what moves the price and what sits outside it.
Freelancer, studio or agency?
Hire a freelancer for a logo alone, a small studio for a logo with a strategy summary and an established studio or agency for research and a full identity system. Each step up costs more and puts more work behind the brand, so match the choice to how many people will apply it.
A freelancer suits a founder who needs a mark fast and will apply it themselves for now. One person does the work, so the logo concepts and final files are usually the whole job, and the templates and guidelines around them are left to you.
A small studio suits a young company with a first website and a pitch deck to make. A strategy summary is usually lighter than the interviews and workshops behind a full identity, so the design rests on less evidence about your customers. Our brand sprint is priced at this level and has the same limit.
An established studio or agency runs research and workshops, builds a full identity system and writes guidelines and templates for it. Our brand identity and rebrand engagements are this kind of work. They cost more and take longer than a sprint, and a full system is more than an untested idea needs.
For a sense of the market, The Mediaverse’s 2026 guide gives typical Indian bands of ₹15,000–₹50,000 for a freelancer’s two to three logo concepts and ₹50,000–₹1,50,000 for a small studio’s work with a strategy summary and mini kit. It puts an established studio’s full system and brand book at ₹1,50,000–₹5,00,000. The Brand Polise puts complete brand strategy and identity at ₹2,00,000–₹15,00,000 or more. Both firms sell branding themselves, so treat these as agencies pricing their own work.
What does each kind of branding project include?
A brand sprint includes a positioning one-pager, a logo and wordmark, colour and typography and a starter brand kit. A brand identity adds research and workshops, messaging, a full identity system, guidelines and templates. A rebrand starts with a brand audit, then evolves the identity and designs how it reaches your website, signage and packaging.
We built the sprint for early-stage teams that need a credible identity fast, and the identity for a new or growing brand that needs a complete strategy and identity system. The rebrand serves established businesses changing their brand across every touchpoint. Beyond the audit and rollout, it includes brand architecture for sub-brands and team onboarding.
A quote for “branding” from any studio, us included, can mean any of the three, so line each quote up against a list like this before you compare prices. If you’re unsure whether a logo would do, read how a logo differs from a brand identity first.
What makes branding cost more or less?
Branding costs more as the research deepens, as the list of applications grows and when you need a name as well. Interviews and workshops add weeks before design starts, and every card, sign or package is another design to make and check. Extra identity routes, illustration, motion and sub-brands push the price up too.
| Driver | Lower cost | Higher cost |
|---|---|---|
| Depth of research and strategy | A positioning one-pager. | Stakeholder and customer interviews; a competitor and category audit; workshops to agree positioning and messaging. |
| Naming | You keep your name or bring one you’ve already chosen. | Company or product naming; a tagline. |
| Identity routes and refinement | Two routes, one refined into the final logo. | Three routes and more rounds of refinement before the system is complete. |
| Number of applications | Business cards; letterhead; a social profile. | Full stationery; signage; packaging; social templates; merch. |
| Illustration and motion | A static logo; a photography brief. | Custom illustration; logo animation. Our work for The Indian Voyage included a tiger illustration for merch and a short logo animation. |
| Brand architecture | One brand under one name. | A parent brand with sub-brands; decisions on how each is named and how they relate. |
What isn’t included in a branding fee?
A branding fee with us doesn’t include building your website, printing, signage fabrication, font licences or stock images, on any of our three engagements. It pays for the brand itself and the artwork for the places your engagement covers. The rest is quoted separately, billed at cost or paid by you directly.
List every item the brand has to appear on and get production quotes alongside the branding quote, so the launch budget covers making things as well as designing them.
Our web team can build a site to the new identity as a separate project. For build prices, see what a website costs in India.
How long does a branding project take?
A brand sprint takes three to four weeks with us, a brand identity six to eight and a rebrand with rollout usually ten to fourteen. The longer engagements spend the extra weeks on research and more applications. You sign off each stage before the next begins, so the dates depend on your team as well as ours.
Name the people who sign off and keep the group small, because each extra approver is another diary to wait for. Before kickoff, book the stakeholder interviews and gather your existing brand files and any customer or sales insight, so the research can start from them on day one.
If you’re weighing a full rebrand against lighter work, read whether you need a rebrand or a refresh.
What does branding typically cost?
In India, a brand sprint with us costs ₹75,000–₹1,50,000, a brand identity ₹2,00,000–₹5,00,000 and a rebrand and rollout ₹5,00,000–₹12,00,000, all excluding GST. Each range sits inside one of the market bands quoted earlier, and where your project falls within it depends on the drivers in the table above.
The rebrand range is the widest, because the rollout differs most from one business to the next. One company’s rollout is designs for a website and a set of templates; another’s is signage and packaging across several product lines, with brand architecture to hold them together.
When you compare our figure with a lower quote, check whether the lower one includes guidelines. A logo and a colour palette cost less than a system someone else can apply, and what brand guidelines should include lists what a full set covers.
Our branding services page sets the three engagements side by side with our process, so you can match a budget to a scope before we talk.
